AquaCorals
Recommended Acclimation Process
All AquaCorals systems are maintained at a reef SG of 1.024
Be warned! Many stores keep their fish in a much lower SG making
acclimation critical!
-
Turn off tank lights & have room dimly lit
-
Float fish bags unopened for 15 minutes - only
necessary if fish have been in the bag more than 4 hours.
-
Open livestock bag at the top
-
Empty approximately 1/2 of the water but be sure
the fish/coral etc. are comfortably covered in water!
-
Place bag in tank draping bag over tank rim.
Make sure bag is open to allow air into bag.
-
Gently add tank water to bag. Approximately
1/3 of the bags content.
-
Wait 15 minutes then repeat step 6
-
Wait another 15 minutes then release as follows:
For Fish - pinch
the bag neck to keep the fish in while emptying 90% of the water then gently let
the fish slide out of the bag & into your tank.
For Corals - Gently remove from bag & place in your
tank.
NOTE: If
you are using this acclimation method for purchases from other stores
DO NOT allow any of the bag water in your
tank as many stores use medications which could be lethal to your reef tank!
