Adding
Trace Elements
To add trace elements or
not (like calcium)….’tis a BIG question for many hobbyists. If you’re
prone to researching things on-line you’ve probably run into
conflicting recommendations on this & every other subject.
This hobby can be awfully confusing…especially to
newcomers.
I’ve always maintained that a
huge part of my own success has
been 10% weekly water changes using a
high quality salt - Tropic Marin specifically.
I've found it to be the most complete in all the necessary
trace elements without the contaminants other salts contain. Yes, our natural
reefs have certain levels of trace elements but do you know
what level your tank has after dosing?! Most are too high
which many times results in disaster! I do not dose as I’ve learned the
hard way that dosing is basically playing with a tank’s
water chemistry which almost always has negative results
over time.
If you’ve got mostly soft corals, even with
some stonies &/or a couple of clams, water changes are all you
need to do! Do yourself & your tank a favor & stick to your
water changes & don’t skimp on salt quality. No other salt
comes close to the quality of Tropic Marin. Will it be
“Captain Crunch” or “Total” for your corals folks?
;c)
Be kind to your reef
& do your water 10% weekly water changes using Tropic
Marin Salts!
